Named King Cotton, or white Gold, the first cotton fabric has been found in Peru, about 6000 BCE ago. Previously separated by hand, Eli Whitney (Savannah)- and his mistress- created the cotton gin . using wire screen. hook, combs, saws to separate the fiber from the seed. Longer the fiber is better it is. Notice that Jeans use short fiber !.
