"Tybee" comes from Euchee language(first Native Americans tribe on the island) and means salt. Known as a resort town, it was reachable by a short boat or train from Savannah. In 1923 the Tybee Road was built ,and the tybrisa Pavilion burned down in 1967 : the end of an era was apparent.
